Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

ok, so i took nclex rn on the 17th and it shut off with 75 great right well no not so great. all that keep going through my mind was how people said oh if you get meds that means its low level and your not doing well and if you get alot of sata thats a good thing. so by question 10 i was a goner for sure. to break it down i had 2 math calc ( know your mcg/ml) 2 yes only 2 sata, 25 meds/teaching , 15 infection control, about 2 or 3 just basic if someone had a distended bladder what do you look for type questions and the rest were priority/ who do you call back, and one psych (theraputic comm) and a ekg strip which threw mw off i wasnt expecting. i had no delegate like which pt do i give the lpn or aide or ob or reg psych stuff.

so i left thinking the questions i had were horrible and i have no clue. i had to have bombed because i didnt get any delegations and i only had 2 sata and all those meds must mean i was below the line. a friend from school went with me and took hers and her results posted the next day (yesterday) and there was nothing for me all day long so i had to face the facts i was one of the 11% who fail at 75. i was ready to start suzannes plan and my good friend from school and some very encouraging fols on this board said no, wait the whole 48 hrs til you give up.

well i happen to ck the website one more time before i gave up and bam there was my name. :yeah::loveya::clown::D

i was so sooooooooooo excited! thanks to everyone that listen to me freak out about thinking i failed and everyone who hasnt tested dont beleive the hype about that if you get alot of sata thats a good sign because apperently that means nothing and alot of med teaching questions must be a good sign too!

thanks and good luck!!:yeah::yeah:

well people dont believe the hype

Oh at least you got the results in two days...Im in Cali so it may take 48 hours to 4 weeks...argh...more anxiety...good luck...on ur career.:)

Congrats! I've been wondering is some of these massive amounts of SATAs that people are getting are part of the 15 pretest questions. Thanks for sharing, this just further proves that there is no way to know if we pass/fail, and we just need to wait it out. :)

I agree i was getting freaked out reading from everyones post that they had 15-20 SATA and that those were the high level questions or those people who had alot of SATA were the ones who passed. WELL, i am sooooooooooooo glad I was the one to dispel that urban myth only getting a couple (thank goodness I stink at those). so for all of you who havent taken their NCLEX dont freak if you only get a couple and dont start thinking you failed like I did because if that!!!!

LyndseyER, I did look at your posts and feel somewhat better today. I took my test today and got about 8 SATA, 2 math, alot of meds, teaching and quite a bit of priority/what would you do first/see first/next, plus a spattering of other questions. I really don't know what to think. My test shut off at 75 questions. If I just read the other posts about needing all the SATA's I would be in a panic right now. I usually don't get much test anxiety and felt ok to unsure when I left. This wait is just going to drive me crazy but nothing I can do. I went in with possitive thoughts, wrote my name on the white board with RN behind it and went at it.

hey there I am so glad that it helped I had so much anxiety and like you Im not normally like that and I thought CRAP I didnt have alot of SATA and I had alot of meds I must have failed. But look now I can say Lyndsey RN and soon you will too. Just relax (easier said then done!):jester:

LyndseyER,

I TOOK MY NCLEX THIS MORNING, and Im feeling like I failed....

Thanks for posting your experience. I just recently had two friends who passed and got a lot of SATA questions. I got a few but not half of my test. I got ALOT of med questions, cardiac strips and ALOT of teaching. I got no delegation but a lot of patient prioritizing. However, I had to take 88 questions and it ended on a cardiac strip questions....I'm so nervous but your post is helping me have a little more hope about what kinds of questions I got.

Thanks

Congrats to you!!!! Bet you feel so good.
