HOLY CRAP @ PHCC

I just spoke with someone in advising...

I was recently told by a different advisor that the last pre req gpa "cut off" for the generic RN program was in the 3.5 range (WITH Cs being retaken) which was verified by what I read here. Today I was told the last 3 admission cycles did not admit below 3.8!!!! so which is accurate? If it's 3.5 I can get in, if it's 3.8 I can't so I want to know if I should spent the 25$ to apply or just take the pre reqs for other programs which I think are slightly lower?!?

I am very frustrated, on a number of occasions I have been given incorrect information from advising.

Can anyone give any input or can anyone give the gpa they got accepted or declined with?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I just cant believe they put a whole 50 percent on the net. Its only one test, for 2 hours and the prereqs are longer harder and require far more studying. I would think it would be a 80/20 split or maybe 75/25 weighted split. Well this does favor me a bit, just cant believe it. I have a 3.9 Gpa and a 93 net. But it just doesnt seem fair with the amount of work we put into the prereqs. Anyways its great to hear from someone who knows.

Thanks again

I totally agree with you! When you only have 2 different things to look at for admission (gpa and net scores) and the first takes one to two semesters of your life with a lot of work and exams, so that you can do well in pre reqs and the GPA of all of those classes is looked at just as much as a 2 hour test is just crazy!

But on the up side for you....it sounds like you did very well! Was your 93 your overall score?

when you all say take the "net" to get in do you mean the "teas" and if so, what is the difference?
