Holmes ADN Program Ridgeland- What should I expect?

Okay, so I received my acceptance letter today from Holmes for their ADN program in Ridgeland. My question goes out to current and former students. What should I expect? schedule, clinicals (farthest distance, hospitals, etc.), expenses, instructors, course load, study time, ability to work during the program, and anything else anyone can think of?

Really? I heard they had a good program. May I ask, what age group are you in? I am going to Hinds this fall in Jackson. Have you heard anything about their program from people who recently attended?

Not that I didn't like it, per say, it just was not a good time. Haha. Most miserable year ever!! Course work was very difficult, would feel like you got the material, but wouldn't translate onto the test. The instructors I loved, 99% of the time. It's just rough. You can do it! Just be prepared to dedicate more than you thought possible. You will grow a lot in the next two years. Be prepared go put a lot of effort into this, lots of tears, blood, and guts if this is what you want.

I haven't heard a lot about Hinds.

I'm not sure any school is better than the other. From what I've heard, they are all disorganized. This has been the most intensive two years of my life. My "breaks" weren't exactly breaks (Spring break, Thanksgiving). I am just this past week catching up on much needed sleep that I have been deprived. My nerves are shot from all of the cramming, clinical paperwork, schedule changes (at the last minute), attempted program changes right before graduation, group projects that become the responsibility of only a couple of group members....I could go on and on. I think livRN2012 can back me up on much of this. At the beginning of each semester (except the first), I felt so burnt out I almost quit. You just won't understand until you live it. ...and if anyone tells you that the hardest part is getting into nursing school or that 2nd and 4th semester are the easiest, they're lying.
