Hi everyone. I have not seen much on here about people applying to Hoag Hospitals in CA. I was curious what the application process has been like for anyone? I have applied to 20+ positions, and just now have been "forwarded as an applicant" to one of them. Anyone able to share some insight or discuss their experience as a new grad at Hoag? Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I have been applying to Hoag for a while and one of my applications went from under consideration to not retained. At the moment I have three that says application received but I noticed the rating on top changed to a higher one. I'm a new grad and it now says like 4 under skills so I'm a bit confused. Is anyone having the same experience?
newgrad000003 said:Wait, is this equivalent to applying for a new grad position? Just wondering--sometimes, RN I listings require six months of experience, which is what I assume by default if the words "new grad" aren't present in the listing. I haven't looked at Hoag's listings, though.
From what I understand the listings for RN I new grads are eligible to apply.
I interviewed last week with a recruiter. I applied long time ago but all of my statuses always said not selected. So I was surprised to get a phone call to schedule a phone interview. I was not even looking for a job anymore since I have an offer for another hospital. But now I want Hoag so bad. Did anyone completed the phone interview with the recruiter yet? If so, how long until you heard back from the actual department? She said I should hear back this week, but my anxiety is killing me. It's for the specialty I've always wanted, so I'm willing to declined the other offer even when it pays more.

I applied to multiple units. The recruiter told me the position she had in mind that aligned with my resume was for an admin role in breast imaging. But I told her I was looking for an RN role.
She then told me she had a couple of other positions for the outpatient cancer center in both Newport and Irvine, and continued with the interview that way. Bc of my location, I told her I preferred Irvine. She went into detail about the start date and the pay range. She gave me two dates to start Oct 13 and Oct 27 I think. This was last Wed and I haven't heard from the actual dpt yet.The odd thing is that since I submitted these applications (early July) it has said not selected. So I don't even know how their hiring process works and what to think.
Another user told me her/his status hasn't changed either. But mine went from submitted to not selected back then. And then I got that call and email about two weeks ago.

What did they ask you during the phone interview?
Has anyone had any luck with applying to Clin Nurse I positions? I have applied to multiple for both Newport and Irvine (Gyn/Uro, ICU, Sub ICU, Cath Lab, Postpartum...honestly you name it), with no luck. Some of my applications have been updated to "under consideration" and a few have even been "under consideration by recruiting", but every time I still end up getting rejected. Does anyone have any advice?

Same for me! Hopefully a recruiter will reach out soon.
