hmm...question trainer 7 made me nervous about my nclex

Published

I'm taking it Wednesday and I was saving QT7 for close to the exam. I got a 75 on QT6, but took 7 today and got 61.5...I mean I was feeling a little tired I guess so maybe that made it worse but I got a 39 in health promotion and maintenance and 56 in Manager of Care. Should I be worried? I'm not sure if it was because I was tired or what but that just seemed ridiculous to me.The questions were just weird.

I don't know if I would be stressed about it. That was a really hard test, and I believe that most of the NCLEX questions are not as difficult. You are still above the Kaplan suggested benchmark for passing the NCLEX. What did you learn from this test? Think about it, and try to come up with something.

What I learned was that around question 85-90 I needed to start taking breaks. It was a long test and sitting there made me lethargic. My plan was to take a 15 minute break during the NCLEX around question 90, if I got that far. Maybe you can obtain a different perspective on the test. It was a learning moment as well as a test of my readiness.

I learned that after a few hrs I turn into a zombie lol...I was tired today to begin with but ya I just wanted to finish so I didn't really take any breaks. Did you take that question trainer?

Yes I did. The only Kaplan tests I did not do are the NCLEX sample tests 3 and 4. I just felt I was ready without them. Don't get discouraged, you are still on the right track.

I did similar to you in that I got a 71.5 on QT 6 and a 61.5 on QT7. Remember that QT7 is 65 questions longer and as rob4546 mentioned, breaks are important. I knew before taking either QT6 or QT7 there was no way I was going to be able to sit there and do 200+ questions straight, therefore I did around 100 and then took some time off. I thought it was important to be able to sit there and take all 265 to know what it feels like if that were to happen in the actual exam, but in the end I decided to not tired myself out then, plus I knew when I actually took the test I would be in a different state of mind as opposed to when I was just studying. I passed last week with 75 questions and from the looks of it you'll pass too! Stay positive!

Thanks so much!! That definitely relieved some of my anxiety!! phew, I think I got this.

Go to the bar and drink or go do something fun. That thing wont do you a dann good on day of exam. NCLEX is critical thinking.
