Hi guys. Im a nurse here in the philippines and currently applying for a work in germany. I applied in one of the agencies based in manila and luckily i passed after being interview by the client from germany. They require us to undergo a language training and medical screening before they can process our visa. What im really bothered right now is that HIV screening is a requirement for the medical exam and i have living with HIV for more than a year now. I had been on treatment and having my CD4 count to be very promising . Im currently on 1034 count compared to 384 that i had before I started the treatment. I dont know if I should go on with the medical exam and just let them ask me if they found that im reactive. I understand the risk of working as a healthcare provider that i cant be involve in any invasive procedures at any given circumstances. I also email one of the organizations in germany regarding about this and they told me that there is no law that would prohibit me from working there. I really wanted to give it a try but I dont know if how high is the chances that im gonna be cleared for the medical exam. Im afraid that they might gonna know my status. Kindly please help me and give advise regarding about this. I would appreciate it a lot. thank you

Hey love. Thankyou for writing this post. Alot of people suffer with the stigma associated with living HIV positive, but medicine and technology has come a long way and it is no longer the death sentence that it once was. I want you to know that you are brave and worthy and to not feel ashamed. The past is just that, the past. Today is a new start and a new chance to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Now, I see that you are afraid of the chances that you won't get hired if they discover your status. Well, understand that the chance is ZERO if you don't try. So give it a go, and see what the universe has in store for you. You must at least try my dear.

You're such a brave soul. Keep fighting for your dream. May I ask? Did you pursue the application? What happened next?
