Hillsborough Community College - Summer 2015

Hi there! I see that there are many threads for past application periods for Hillsborough Community College but I haven't seen one yet for the Summer of 2015. I wanted to start a thread for those of us who are applying for the Summer 2015 transition program. I just turned in my application this past week. The deadline is January 15, 2015 and they say it can take 12-15 weeks to find out if we are accepted which means a LONG wait :nailbiting:. Best of luck to everyone applying and I look forward to getting to know some of you during this waiting game! Hope to talk to you soon!

I put in my application about a month ago. I don't think we should hear anything until 12 - 16 weeks after the deadline. I'm trying to wait patiently!

Me too! It seems like it has taken me forever to get to this point lol. What's a few more months of waiting??

It looks like people received their letters at the end of March last year. Does anyone know what the schedule will be like? I know it's 3 days per week plus one clinical but I'm wondering what time it will be and if we have options on days or times.

I'm applying for the Dale Mabry campus if that matters as far as schedule goes.

One of the current students in the program posted on another thread and said that class is two days a week for 3 hrs plus one 10 hour clinical. He didn't really get into times and I'm not sure that we have an option for times with the transition program. He also mentioned that we will have required community service and sim/lab hours each semester but I'm not sure how many of these we are expected to complete each semester.

I got my acceptance letter today!!! I'm so excited! Orientation is April 6th. Does anyone know what we do to get our background check done? The letter just says to get it done at the Ybor campus.

Congratulations! I got mine too! I was shocked it came this early! From what I read I think you just go there during the hours printed on the background information sheet and bring a $50 check or money order.

Congratulations ladies! I received a letter today saying I'm "alternate status". I don't know what that entails but it's better than denial I guess.

Congrats ladies! I got my acceptance letter as well! I'm turning my acceptance letter in tomorrow.

Congrats to you both! Yes, Carvernation alternate is definitely better than a denial. I would guess that if someone either does not turn in there acceptance letter or attend orientation etc. they will start to contact the alternates.

I will be turning in my acceptance letter on Tuesday and am hoping to knock out the background check that day too.

This is so exciting! :)

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site but received my acceptance call Monday!!!! I originally received an alternate spot so I'm super excited that I got in!
