I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!
Has anyone seen the form or know where to get it regarding our physical. I have all the shots completed and the physical, just wanted to have the dr complete the form and have it ready to turn in early.

Is it safe to say that HCC is not taking alternates this year?
It is still early. On Oct. 22nd they were still saying another 2 weeks for alternates to be notified/campus assignments. I'm sure they want to do them at the same time. Also, I'm sure some will not complete/pass everything in time (background check, drug test, etc.). In the past some alternates were not notified of a seat opening up until after orientation as well.
I think its safe to say that between this week and next week we should all be hearing something since orientation is basically 2 weeks away. I am ready to get all that over with so I can know for sure my campus and time for classes. Lets hope we all get the campus assignment we desire.
Idk if anyone has heard this, but I called the nursing department and the lady with whom I spoke said that alternates can hear back after orientation. It all depends on where u r on the "list". This saddens my heart...
