Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

@Dwarren727...That does help. Thanks for posting it. What was the date they sent that to you? If you don't mind me asking :)

HI everyone. I applied for Plant City day as my number 1. I have a 4.0 along with an AA, but I'm still afraid that something will have gotten messed up. LOL Does anyone know if our acceptance/denial will show up in "my documents" before we receive our letters?

Based on everything I have read on past threads I think that will not show in your "my documents". I have a 4.0 also, I just can't remember what I put as my number 1. I want to do nights/weekend. So that was my number 1.

The only reason I still remember my choice is because they sent me an email a few weeks ago asking to number my choices 1-5; I only numbered 1-3 on my application. I have heard that it easy to switch between the day and night programs, after the first semester since people drop out. So even if you don't get your first choice you may be able switch for Spring term. ~ good luck

Did you put it for nights/weekends for PC campus, bc i put mights/weekends for PC but would like to change with someone for days PC campus......well if i get in, of course i will take whatever but trading would be awesome:)

Does anyone have to link with a list for the required vaccines? I'd like to start getting up-to-date, but didn't see any info on the HCC site.

I thought I saw on previous threads that you get info like that after your accepted, but now sure how. If you find out there is a link, will you post it? I would like to start looking into the best place to go for the least amount of money...of course that is, if I get in. I also have a 4.0, but am not convinced that I automatically get in because of that...anything can happen...I have seen some crazy situations on previous threads. :nailbiting:

I know for lpn school you need mmr, tb, tetorifice, chx pox (if not immune) and hep b

I got all of my shots already. Went to my primary care and the insurance covered all the costs. Here are the shots and titers you will need: DTAP, MMR, Hep A&B (I got a combo shot). Need Varicella titer and TB test. Most of you probably already have the DTAP, but if you haven't gotten it for a few years, not sure how many, you will need to get it again. Well, let's hope we hear something in the next week or so.:)

Do you know if we need a physical? Is there a special form we need to get for the physical?

Here is what the HCC handbook says: ]]

Physical examination and immunizations:

]]Clinical work requires vigorous activity and the ability to perform with or without reasonableaccommodation. Satisfactory physical health is also required to provide a safe environment and to prevent exposure to/transmission ofcommunicable diseases. Therefore, the students pursuing a Health Sciences program are required to have a physical examination from a physician or other licensedhealth care provider, verifying they are able to meet these requirements on a specific form. The form must be completed by a licensedphysician and must also include copies of all lab work, and immunizations or proof of immunizations. The completed form will be filed in the

]]student's file. New students will be given the form and instructions at the New Student Program Orientation.

Here is a link to what PSC requires: I'm willing to bet HCC will be the same. Program: Nursing (Transition Option), AS - Polk State College - Acalog ACMSâ„¢ I'd like to get the shots/titers out of the way now so I won't have as many costs come August: books, uniforms, stethoscope, ect will add up pretty quick. I believe that the county Health Department will be the most affordable for those of us who don't have insurance

I called and got the orientation dates: June 27 & 28
