Hillsborough Community College Nursing - Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else is planning on applying to the HCC nursing program for the spring of 2018? I just finished this rough semester and I was hoping there would be other people on here that I can talk to about this upcoming goal! (:

Good! I figured out my scanner and did it a day or so ago. I'm going to write an email to try to get some info and see what they have my cumulative GPA as. I just don't want to be surprised if they say it is lower than expected.

Good luck! They wouldn't tell me anything about acceptance. I'm sure they didn't mess your GPA up

Well I read cumulative GPA shouldn't include prepatory classes. Since I transferred from another school I just want to double check.

If that's true, my overall should be higher than I think

Hi everyone!

I'm planning on applying for Spring Semester. I just heard that acceptance letters went out last Friday for the fall cohort.

I was wondering if you guys know how they calculate +/- grades? Are they counted towards the GPA?

Also, I can't find it on the website, but how old can the pre-reqs be? I took one of my pre-req's back in 2011.

Thank you for your help and best of luck!

HCC doesn't do +/- so they would just use the letter grade that you received when calculating GPA.

I don't think how long ago you took the course matters. I think the only issue would be whether the credits are accepted by HCC or not.

I would double check with an advisor.

Hey guys! I'm applying for the Spring semester. I just finished my last pre reqs and couldn't apply for the Fall semester in time. I have a 3.71 GPA and an 80% on the TEAS. Do you think that's competitive? But if you guys are correct and they only do A and B (not plus or minus) then I have a 3.90 pre req GPA.

That's a lot of students for the nursing for spring. I did also here that not a lot of people apply for it but sheesh that's a lot

I thought the cumulative GPA would be used if it's between like two people?

You are correct cumulative GPA is used only to break ties

Hello, it's nice to meet you! (:

Ah thank you very much for confirming that for me

You probably don't have anything to worry about, your GPA is pretty high
