Hillsborough Community College LPN-RN summer 2012

Published

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has applied to the HCC LPN-RN transition program starting May 2012. I just received my letter in the mail yesterday and I can't wait to get started!! Hoping to connect with others who will be starting then too!

Hi Lexuan, thanks for responding to my post on another thread. I am planning to go meet with counselor tomorrow, drop off my signed alternate form, and also review something I found on my HawkNet profile. For some reason one of the sections shows that I have not started BSC1085, yet another section does show it as completed. I definitely took and completed the class, and it shows my transcript from HCC. My "alternate" letter does not indicate that I am missing any prerequisites, but I want to be sure.

Would you know how many seats are available for the program? I heard that is would only about 30 or so, and on average 90 to a 100 people apply. With this ratio the chances do not seem great, but I am very optimistic.

My HawkNet profile also says the same thing about BSC1085. Not sure why either.

As far as how many seats are available I really don't know but I am pretty sure it is the same amount from year to year. Maybe tomorrow they will give you a better indication as to how many alternates are admitted each year. Let me know how it goes!!

Hello, my name is Mona and I also received my alternate letter/form in the mail. I will be dropping my letter off tomorrow. I hope and pray some people change their mind or something... I'm nervous. I have to start working on plan B just in case.

Hi Mona, what is the plan B for you?

Our letters to accept a seat have to be in by March 2 so the wait shouldn't be too long. I have a friend who works at HCC and she made it sound like just about everyone who applied for the transition program got in one way or another.

My plan B will be to attend one of the million dollar school of nursing, Galeen, Keiser,or Rasmussen College, but I'm not to sure about Rasmussen's accreditation. I would attend st. Pete College, but they don't accept HCC s micro credits and I would have to take one or two more pre reqs. I'm still hoping and praying I get in at HCC, I mailed my letter off today via cert. mail. I know I will be stalking my mail box until April 2.

Good Morning All!

I just checked the mail, and THE letter was there! I am in for the transition program. Prerequsite GPA is 3.82, overall GPA is 2.56 (little too much partying first time through school).

Congratulations dtex23!!

Are you currently working? I am only working PRN at the moment and really need to brush up on some skills before school starts!

Hi, I have been offered alternate for LPN-to-RN transition program, and I dropped off my acceptance form at Dale Mabry office. Has anyone in the same position tried to confirm if their form has been received and entered into the system? I feel a little paranoid. I called them and they provided me an email of [email protected] for confirmation, and I wrote to her but got no answer. Any suggestions?
