Hillsborough Community College-Fall 2014

Hello everyone,

So my dream since I can remember has been to become a nurse; however, it seems as if it will never happen. I recently finished my pre-requisite courses to apply to the fall semester of the HCC nursing program. While I did not get any C's I made mostly B's :blink:earning A's in two classes and one lab. I realize this is not good enough since it puts my GPA at around a 3.38. Since I did not fail any of my classes, I don't believe I will be able to retake them. Is there any possible way to retake them? Or any way to increase my GPA since they mainly look at the pre-requisite courses? If not, what other options do I have for becoming a nurse? If anyone is out there who could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. I will submit my application regardless but I don't have any high hopes of getting accepted, if there is anyway to increase my chances I would be so grateful to find out!

Yes! All campuses are welcomed. I wanted to make an announcement at Orientation but never had the right time to do it. The more the merrier but only from our fall class. Thanks!

I've tried a couple of times and i cant find it. if it is a closed group i wont be able to join it, I think you have to invite us.

That's weird because I just found it find on my son's page. It says join on the right side. There are a few people that found it and added themselves without being my friend.

I was just on my son's page...I went to Hillsborough Community College Fall 2014 Nursing Students which it says it's a closed group but you can still click on it..when you do on the right side it says join group. You click that and you will be fine.

Does anybody know when they do the background checks. I remember some of our paperwork saying that we would not officially be accepted into the program (even though they welcomed us and made it seem like we are already in at orientaton) until after the drug screen and the criminal background check. We did the fingerprints a while ago. I think that we gave them permission to do the backround check before we did the fingerprints, but they asked permission for that again through the Certified Background website, so I am not sure if they have done it already.

Good question. I was going to say check the FAQ in that certified program. I thought I read today it said something about a few weeks. I was thinking that they would only contact us if something was wrong.
