Hillsborough Community College Fall 2012

Anybody applying ...? =)

I got the same email too, but I cannot open the 2 eligibility attachments that were sent with it. Can someone help. Here is my email: [email protected]

Yes you need CPR before class starts. We will get that info at orientation, but if you choose to do it early, look back in the thread to get more info - someone mentioned hcc offering it for $25, and the one I signed up for is $50.

As for the scholarship email, the attachments didn't work for anyone because she sent a picture of the file, not the actual file! However, if you google Florida Wia, you'll be able too look at their requirements and figure out if you qualify. Basically, if you are on unemployment or have exhausted your unemployment and ate unable to find gainful employment with your current skillet you'll probably qualify.

Do you guys mind sharing the email on here for those of us who didn't receive it?

Thanks

Brandon Regional Hospital (BRH) and the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance have partnered with Hillsborough Community College (HCC) to offer eligible students in the Nursing program a full scholarship and employment opportunity with BRH. If selected, upon completion of the Associate Degree in Nursing at HCC, students will be guaranteed a position at Brandon Regional Hospital as a Registered Nurse.

For those of you who are selected and eligible, you may have the opportunity for employment at BRH while you are enrolled in the nursing program. The cost of the course, the instructor, and all of the books will be paid for by BRH and the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance. The only commitment you, as the student/employee have, will be to commit to work with BRH for two years after the completion of this program.

This exciting opportunity is only open to a limited number of students. If you are interested in finding out more information, please join us on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in Classroom B at the Oakfield Plaza at Brandon Regional Hospital.

Students must qualify for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding. Attached are two documents that describe the eligibility and income qualifications for the two WIA options. Students must qualify for one of the two programs, be Hillsborough County residents, be starting the program in Fall 2012, and selected by BRH.

Please contact the Nursing office at 813-253-7268 for questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!

I did a little bit of research, and found the link where u can register for the CPR class at HCC. The class is specially tailored for the HCC nursing students. The total cost is $28. It is actually offered by HCC at a discount rate to its HCC nursing students.

I'm an idiot and didn't turn in my signed consent form with the 38.00 check and my accepted seat confirmation form. I guess I'll drop it off tomorrow, I hate how dumb that was of me and how I'm cutting it close now! Also am I supposed to have done the background finger print scan before the 30th ?

Background needs to be done by orientation. But I wouldn't wait until the last minute on that because not only does it have to be done, but the results have to be in as well. And if there's any issues with your prints and they need you to redo them, you'll want to have enough time for that just in case. I'd go do them this week.

i received this email also, and definitely interested. BUT from what i understand, a (2) year commitment for ONLY tuition, books, instruction, etc... (cost of living is not included) if my calculations are correct, you will be obliged for under minimum wage.

40 hour work week = 2080 hours/year

TOTAL program cost = $11,000 (2 years)

even with cost of living, i am 50/50 on this... need to know how many hours.

No, they still pay you normal salary, and guarantee a job. But you have to work there for 2 years, Or pay back the money.

Thank you so much Brandeekins, really appreciate the info. now i just need to know the qualifications of WIA.

Thank you,

I going to enroll for CPR class, hope I will have it done on time :)

If you google Florida you can look them up. It's pretty much an unemployment tool to get reemployed.
