I found it was super important to stay on top of my studies. Every night I spent a majority of my time reading, making note cards etc. The work was not difficult, just a lot of it. Good luck! Jules

Be prepared to do a great deal of reading. I completed a LVN program last year and it was recommended that we do a minimum of 1 to 2 hours of daily reading. Just do plenty of reading and be sure to absorb the material fully. It is better to actually learn your stuff rather than rote memory. People who do a bunch of quick last-minute memorizing often fail their state boards. People who take the time to learn the subject matter usually succeed at passing their state boards.

I agree with the other posters. You must spend time reading, not just to memorize, but to comprehend. I used a great deal of highlighters, because bright colors helped me. Also, if I read passages that were a bit hard to comprehend, I would keep reading it, then change it to my own words. I spent about three hours a day, maybe four studying. And, try to take a day off not to do anything. I'd usually do that after an exam...about two days of not touching a book when I got home, unless I saw that there was another test the following week.
