hello everyone. i am a navy corpsman. i have been to iraq, and saved 150 while only losing 19 marines in 7 months, to include having done crichothyroidotomies, and other extreme measures i have been trained in. i have recently run into a problem. i am also a surgical tech, and am trying to challenge the california LVN board for certification, but the requirements say that i have to have 1 year experience on a ward, and i dont work on wards. my jobs are in too high of a demand to work on a ward. however, to get the job i am looking for i need to get my LVN license. is there any way that anyone knows to get past this, or are there any online accelerated nursing programs that i can take advantage of? i need some help here in california. thanks everyone and semper fi

Moving this to the LPN/LVN area so someone can help you. I would also recommend calling the BON - their definition of "ward" may not be that hard and fast.
Thanks for your service - glad you made it home to continue your education.
