HFCC Net Test

Published

I took and passed the HFCC NET test, but it did say I had a frustration level. I looked up my pending nursing evaluation and below is what it says. It gives the date I took the test but then says NE* (nonequivalent) Does anyone know if this means that because of my frustration level it didn't fully fulfill the requirement or am I reading too much into it? Thank you for any advice you have to offer. The nursing office did say that I am on the wait list, but I don't want this to come back and bite me if they suddenly look at the frustration level.

I've taken them in the past, but mine is expired. I was hoping HFCC had one, but I know the Red Cross, the Y etc usually have them. Somewhere I read to take it June or July before you enter the Fall program so that was my plan.

Did you talk to Michelle about your NET test yet?

Hi mybrowneyedgirl,

I did talk to her today and everything is GOOD! Thank God! I am on the list and have been since I talked with her last time. I did take the net and passed and it's all documented!

Who knows maybe we'll end up in the program together. I still gotta figure out what I will do employment wise...it's gonna be tough finding a different job that will work around my schooling but I'll do what I gotta do!

By the way I took a test today in my A&P class, have you ever come across a teacher that just seems to WANT to trip you up? It's like all the questions were a trick or something! It was very frustrating and I think it's going to be a long semester.:icon_roll

RN2B73,

Glad your NET date turned out well.

I've been very lucky with teachers so far. I'm in A and P too and our first test is Monday. Our teacher is very young and easy going. Do you have Prof. P? I've heard that about him.

I'm trying very hard to save up money so that I can quit my job this Fall. They don't seem to catch on that I'll be quiting. They're moving further north and now they want me to work from home when they move. I want to focus on school. I used to work at Kohls and may go back in the following summer, but better yet I'd like to get a nurse externship and get some real experience in a hospital.

Any idea what hospitals you might favor after graduation?

Mybrowneyedgirl,

Me too. I have Prof. S., I think I can learn alot from him but I think he just likes to be difficult simply because he knows he can. I live right by Oakwood main so that would be most convenient but who knows. I would also love to get some experience in the hospital setting. I think we would greatly benefit from it! I think I'm most interested in Labor and Deliver or maybe OR. How about you?

RN2B73,

Honestly, L & D and OR too. I love babies and emergency situations. I'm hoping my clinicals will help me narrow it down. I just know that I don't want geriatrics, psych or NICU and I won't change my mind on that. I hear Critical Care is a great spot to get wanted experience, but I don't really know what that is.

I would love to get St. Mary's because it's close to me and that's where I had my kids. I would love Beaumont because it's such a great hospital. I hear Henry Ford is good too. Providence seems nice as well. I can't choose. I'm hoping to get a variety of these at clinicals if they are available.

Mybrowneyedgirl,

That is too funny! We seem to have alot in common, except our hospital of choice but I'm sure as we get further along that may even change. Do you ever go in the chat room? I've tried a few times but either no one is ever in there or I don't know what I am doing. Do you ever go to the specialty areas and post there. I've been reading ob/gyn, it's pretty interesting! I'm with you on the geriatrics and psych but I wouldn't mind checking out NICU.

Um...there's a chat room? Where? We should find a private way to swap emails.

mybrowneyedgirl,

Look up on the yello stripe and you'll see chat. Just click on it and follow along...I will also pm you.

I never noticed a chat before either.

So RN2b hows a&p going?

I really like the class it's just the teacher that is going to take some getting used to.

I had my first test today. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Hopefully my grade will say the same.
