I took and passed the HFCC NET test, but it did say I had a frustration level. I looked up my pending nursing evaluation and below is what it says. It gives the date I took the test but then says NE* (nonequivalent) Does anyone know if this means that because of my frustration level it didn't fully fulfill the requirement or am I reading too much into it? Thank you for any advice you have to offer. The nursing office did say that I am on the wait list, but I don't want this to come back and bite me if they suddenly look at the frustration level.
THE NET READING REQUIREMENT MAY BE SATISFIED BY
> PASSING THE TEST WITH A NON-FRUSTRATIONAL
> LEVEL OF 50, OR GREATER. APPLICANTS SCHEDULE THE
> TEST WITH THE LEARNING LABORATORY. ALL APPLICANTS
> WHO SCORE BELOW THE ACCEPTABLE LEVEL ARE REQUIRED
> TO TAKE DEVELOPMENTAL COURSE WORK, STUDENTS MUST
> BE RETESTED TO DOCUMENT A NON-FRUSTRATIONAL
> INSTRUCTIONAL READING LEVEL OR HIGHER. APPLICANTS
> ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING THEIR SCORES TO THE
> ADMISSIONS OFFICE.

am about to take the net test at hfcc anyone with some tips or advice?
Review your percentages, algebra, and fractions.
Remember the reading is timed.
I found the math easy and the reading frustrating
Good luck

I would have to agree with mybrowneyedgirl! I have always been really good at reading and comprehension but not so good at math. Wouldn't you know it, the first time I took the net I passed the math and ran out of time on my reading. The second time I passed the math again (no problem) and passed the reading by the skin on my teeth!!!
Just be prepared. Practice some reading and grasping the concept of the material. Also know inferences!!!
Good luck!
I'm a little nervous now. I just looked up my eval. like you did and it says I still need to take the NET. I already did and I don't understand why it isn't showing it. I talked with Michelle back in Dec. and she said she added me to the waitlist. I guess I'll have to call and find out "what the heck"?
Instead of looking up your personal eval, go to pend:nursing under the "what if" evaluation. My date of NET showed up under there. Hopefully yours will too.
good luck.
Do you expect to get in this Fall?
I did that as well but still nothing! I'll call tomorrow. I am guessing Winter of 09 but I hear that sometimes they call sooner, so maybe fall 08? What about you?
Michelle predicts that I'll get in this Fall, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm "glass half empty" when it comes to school. I still have to take Psy 253 and Soc this Spring to have my prereqs complete.
I'm sure that if you have proof of having taken the NET that they'll put you in the right place on the waitlist. It's a good thing you checked.
What classes do you have left?
Soc and my 2nd A&P...I better be on that waitlist, urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
mybrowneyedgirl,
Have you taken your CPR class yet? I was wondering when I should do that? Do you know where to take it?

I was told to take it i the semester before you start nursing. I'm thinking on just taking it at the red cross to get it over with.

For cpr don't take it till they accept you because its only good for 2 years you don't want to take it early and then have to take it again for your last semester when you are thinking of everything else! Don't worry I only had 2 weeks to take mine cause I was a late acceptance and I still had a few classes available to me!
