At my job if there are no call ins (nurses, med techs, cna's) on all three shifts for the weekend, each shift gets we a pizza party. I understand it's an incentive, but what are we, in middle school? Sad thing is, we haven't had a pizza party in over a year. I absolutely hate coming to work when I know we're working short. I feel your pain.

Aaagh so this is my weekend to work and come to find out we are down 2 RNs on saturday and 5 RNs on sunday and another potential loss
(one of my co-workers called me and told me that she wasn't feeling well and may not come this weekend)
First off who did the schedule???

I mean it's supposed to be 11 RNs. Who approved all this time off??
And I don't care how short we are I will refuse to work the trauma bay by myself.
Maybe some managers will come in to take a district and take patients
Maybe the house supervisior will run triage
Maybe they'll float some SICU, PICU, and CCU nurses???? or oh my even the floor nurses *yikes*
Ahhh maybe not, we may have to suffer this alone. Ugh! Would anyone like to pick up some shifts??? lol
