OK... since no one replied to my other question....lol... i am HOPING someone will help me out with THIS ONE!!!!!:lol2:

i decided to jump past the lpn program and head straight for RN, but i NEVER took any college courses. the SUPER nice lady i spoke to at MHSON suggested taking CLEPs for intro to PSYCH and SOCIOLOGY while taking other pre-reqs. well, i checked into the CLEPs and they also offer it for english comp. has anyone taken these? they offer 3 college credits if you pass, but i am just wondering how hard/easy the tests are????

You will get prep info for the exams. It really shouldnt be too bad. I just finished my first semester at MHSON. I would recommend this school to ANYONE!! YOu probably spoke with Mrs. Lindemann. She is very nice and is who you are directed to for admissions info. If you don't work, you can do the program with the pre-reqs in the 2 yrs all together. CLEP what you can. If you want to get your bachelors in the future, be careful because certain CLASSES will be required although some things they will allow to be the CLEPped. If you just want the diploma, apply and take everything through them (which will be expensive because you will be paying tuition for either montclair state univ or new jersey city univ depending on the classes. It took me one yr at Essex County College to take everything (including courses towards the BSN) except Micro which I will do through MHSON in the summer.

I think that English comp would be easy to clep out of (especially if you were good at it in high school). Psych I decided to take and sociology too because those are changing fields and I wanted to be up to date on them - plus they were fascinating and easy A's to keep the GPA up.

MHSN will let you clep some classes. I think English is one of them. Yeah, do what you can to keep your GPA up. You need an 80 to pass (thats a "C" at MHSN) but when you go on in nursing afterwards, you will have a bit of an advantage because in reality and 80 is a "B". It puts you over those who got that 70 or 75 just to stay in the program of whatever school they are coming from. Did you already apply? From what I was told last week, Mrs Lindeman WILL allow you to take certain classes at a county college but the sciences you would defintely have to take through their method. Just ask her, she doesnt withold information.

Hello-

I am considering MHSON for fall 2010! I also spoke to Ms. Lindemann and she was so informative! I have my BA in psychology....but I want to take all the pre=req science classes before I start. I do have a question about NET TEST? Did you study for it? What is your take?

Thanks

Greg

ps. How do you like the MHSON pgm overall? I hear awesomet things!!
