Hey new grads, how long did it take to get your NY RN license in the mail?

U.S.A. New York

Hey All,

I took the NCLEX on Friday and found out today that I passed. For those who also recently took their boards, I am wondering how long it took the NY State Board to mail you your license/for your name to appear on the website? I have a job prospect in another state and want to apply for my license by endorsement asap. Thanks for your help!

It took about 2 1/2 weeks after I got my results

I did the 2-day check to see if I passed on the Pearsonvue website. A week afterwards, I got my official letter with the passing result. A week after the official letter, I got my license and certification.

OBoroRN and herowneulogy,

Thank you for the info. What month did you take your boards? I am just curious/hopeful that because I took mine in February, rather than over the summer that I might receive my license quicker. Herowneulogy, was your license # included in the official letter by chance?

I took the test in August

I tested thur, jan 20th,,posted on website on jan 25th,,recieved it in the mail on the 28th..

I took my boards in November. My official letter only stated in 2 sentences that I passed. A couple of people from my program went onto the NY State Board of Nursing website and saw their name listed as Registered Nurses. I waited until after I received my license and certification (these are the documents that contain my license #). The letter from Pearsonvue that states that you have successfully achieved a passing score on the NCLEX will not provide the license # and they only deal with the RN examination. Anything having to do with license# will be provided by your state board of nursing. Good luck.
