This is a quick check-in with you all.

Just wondering how the majority of you are doing. Do you like school so far? Study much? Doing well? Stressed?

Things are going well here. They break up our first semester into nursing 110 & nrsg 111 (fundamentals). I am almost done w/ 110!!! 2 more weeks of clinical then my final. Then onto 111. Time seems to be flying, I hope the next 1 1/2 years goes this quick!!

I'm still excited, can't wait to be done though:chuckle

well wishes,

Mandy

I have been in school for five weeks now, Block one. It has been a lot of work. This week we had dosage calc test that we had to pass with 100%. Final and Practicum in Pharm. I got over the needle IV and IM injection. The next day we had our Assess. final and practicum, I got cardiovascular and respiratory assessment. Both painstakingly nerve racking, but passed both with 100% The stress has finally lifted we start clinicals in two weeks, can't wait!:wink2: I have learned so much in such a little time, but so far I am loving the challenge!

100% isn't passing -- it's perfection! I'm impressed.

Specializes in Urgent Care.

Well, it sounds like I have it easy. I am in the 1 quarter of a part time lpn program and have already done eng, math, psych and so only have a cell bio class designed for our course, so we also do sidelines of med doses and filling syringes (basically intro to pharm), and a bit of what whould be considered a&p. Next quarter will be a&p I and pharmacology. so its so far fun and easy

Specializes in Neurology and Med/Surg.

So far so good. Just started semester 1 of 4 at the local community college. We do lecture on mondays, tues & thur lab and wed is clinical. We spent three weeks at the nursing home and next week is the first time at the hospital. Im nervous and excited. We have only ONE CNA in our clinical section and everyone is trying to get her as their partner for the hospital especially since she works at the one we're going to.

When I started the program, I did it for a secure job for my family and something to do until I could do what I loved... which I didn't know at the time would turn out to be NURSING. Ever since clinicals started, I have been on a natural high. This career is everything I always wanted and didn't know it was right under my nose LOL. So far its very rewarding and I love the direct pt care and Orem's theory etc. I hope I don't become an angry miserable nurse after years of working...I hope and pray that I will keep this love for the job for years to come.
