How's post-op cardiac treating you?? And life on the day shift?

Pretty good, darlin! Thanks for asking. Today was rough (obvy, since you saw my other post) but somehow making it through a full shift on only a cup of coffee and half a can of Coke is a lot easier when it happens in daylight.

Could have done without the two hours in Radiology, though. I think that's what I'll miss most about nights, other than my buddies. Road trips were few and far between.

Oh, and I forgot. JCAHO was here! I managed to dodge 'em, though. Leadership likes to get us young'uns when they come around because they assume we're better with the computer and are more eager for approval, so we'll try harder. Or something.

Are you on days for good now, or just for orientation? I miss nights pretty bad, but not enough to go back. It sure is nice not feeling like I'm sleeping my life away. I have noticed that it is much easier to be tired and just suck it up during the day than it is at night. The shift seems to go a little faster. I'm still getting used to taking kids off the floor for CT, MRIs, etc. I still get lost trying to find radiology! You would think that after 4 years working there I'd know where stuff is, right?

Ooh, I'm on days for reals! That happened just a week or so ago. An orientee with hospital (but not unit) seniority was supposed to get the spot, but, uh, she ended up going back to her old floor. And I was supposed to go back to nights for a month after doing post-ops and then back to days because it was all so last minute and the schedule was already done, but I found out today I'm just going to stay on days.

Sorry, Steve! I'll miss ya!

Well, welcome to the day shift! Since I do have to be up for work in the morning (and in charge, boo!), I'm off to bed. Have a good day tomorrow!

You guys are leaving me on nights by myself!
