Hello All!
I'll be taking the HESI entrance exam in a couple weeks and thought I'd ask for any last minute advice, tips on how to study. I've put in time every day studying but sometimes get frustrated with all of the content. I am in Illinois and I only have one shot at the test.
I have been reviewing the Evolve Reach HESI book
Thanks in advance for any help!
Yeah, I have to wait six months, and if i do not pass, I have to go to another school I am super bummed. I really thought I could do it, but as soon as the questions started on the a&p I knew I was going fail. It was barely anything that was in the book, I guess I just have to read my actual A&P book again and take some end of chapter quizzes in there. I got A's on everything else. I spent the most time on the math and I got a 96. It was almost exactly out of the book. The vocab had a few words not in the book, mabe like 5, and I missed two questions. The reading comp was easy, just have to read the passage and get info out of there. The chem and bio are not counted to get in, so I rushed through, did not study and got a 76 and 84. The grammar was basic, out of the book. I just can't believe that I only got a 60!!!! Gosh I am ******. The proctor had the average score and it was a 40%!!!!
I listed some online resources and also my experiences with the HESI pre-entrance exam. The schools can customize that test to some extend. I took it at two different schools and scored in the '90s each time. But, the A&P at the second school was tougher than what was on the first school's test.
Search my older posts here from Feb/Mar of this year and that might help you some. Overall, the science material on the test was not a difficult as what's in the HESI review book. But the A&P questions went into more detail.

Most programs have a policy for retaking the exam. For my school it was you can only take it once a semester, so if you didn't pass you had to wait for the next semester to take it again.
Well because I am taking Physiology this semester I didn't know some of the horomones they were talking about. The A&P in the study guide won't help, just look over your notes for that class. Also the science tests are the shortest sections of the exam. Like 30 questions so you can't really afford to get too many wrong.
