I don't remember much of the questions but there is definitely a correlation. I got the highest score in my class and passed the nclex the first time with 75 questions. The dean of my school told me that I would have no problem since I scored so high but I still took Kaplan and suggest you do the same. I took Kaplan and took my test right away. I think the day after Kaplan was over.
I scored really high on Hesi with very little effort. I passed NCLEX on my first try, too. I thought NCLEX was extremely difficult, though.
On the flip side, I had a friend who failed Hesi twice. The school made an exception and gave her an ATT (they normally require a passing Hesi exit exam). She passed NCLEX on the first try with no trouble.
What is considered a good score? I took mine last week and didn't study at all because I am attending 2 different colleges and graduating from an ADN nursing program this week and was swamped with two big papers. I score 969. Is that okay?
Do you know what the percentage was? I got an 89% and just like you I couldn't study because it was the week before finals.

Hi -
Just wanted to see if there was truly any correlation between HESI scores and NCLEX passing rates. How did the HESI questions compare to NCLEX?
Thanks!
