When is a good time to take the HESI entrance exam? Also, I've heard it was very difficult and I've also heard it's a lot like the TAKS test. I'm still taking my prerequisites but I know I have to have the HESI done before I apply to the school I want to go to. Any advice?

You should check with the program that you wish to attend -- they have the guidelines for taking the exam. Some require it prior to application for the program and some require it after the application...also need to find out how long they will hold the results valid -- some will keep them valid for 1 year while I've heard that some will keep them valid until HESI releases a new version of the exam.

I'm taking mine July 16. We have to wait 6 months to retake it if we're not happy with our first score. If I don't like my score I'll be able to retake mine in January -- I'll be applying to nursing school in Feb.
I haven't finished my A&p 2 class, and was going to take the test after I completed that. Do you know how fast we get the scores back or will we find out the day we take it?
Luckily my school only requires the math & reading section. I think you get scores back right after you finish the test ; oh yeah, ours is valid for a year after taking it. After a year if we haven't applied to nursing school, we have to retake it regardless of how well our score was.
