Herzing University Orlando Campus

Published

I attended an informational meeting at Herzing University Orlando, FL Campus yesterday and it appears that the school is expensive, but the turnaround time to become an RN is very quick. Are there any current or recent Graduates of Herzing University who can share some insight about the school (pros and cons).

I would be moving from Tampa to Orlando to attend this school. Please share any information about the TEAS, tuition, financial aid/ disbursements, local apartments, classes/teachers, advisors/support, and best of all job availability/security.

I know the school has recently received their NLNAC accreditation and are registered with the Florida Board of Nursing. But any information regarding accreditation and hospitals views of the program are also welcome.

I'm in the same boat as you. I like the school and the program structure. I have been waiting for them to get their accreditation before moving forward with the school and am taking my TEAS tomorrow morning. I have read some good reviews and bad reviews, but they are all pretty vague. I have expectations that it will be hard to find a job as a new grad and a hope to start my BSN after graduation. You will hear from some people on here that the credits will not transfer but this is not true. I contacted UCF myself and asked them if they accept Herzing grads into their RN to BSN program and they said that they do.

The challenge will be finding a job, but this is everywhere and applies to all people from all occupations. UCF BSN graduates will get a job before Herzing ADN graduates. I have heard that Florida Hospital and ORMC will not hire Herzing grads because they did not have the accreditation. Now that they have their NLNAC accreditation it should change. The biggest obstacle in getting a job is the crappy economy.

Thanks Laurdra!

I personally emailed the NLNAC to confirm their accreditation, as they were not listed on the site. I received a response which confirmed their accreditation as the site has not been updated since March 2011.

I truly hope to receive some feedback on the school. I am scheduled to take the TEAS on the 29th of this month. Please let me know how the exam goes. I plan on studying daily until the actual exam.

No problem! The June 2011 decisions are on the NLNAC website now. :) I will let you know how the exam goes. I am getting ready to take the final practice test. I'm fairly confident on all of the sections except the physical and chemistry science portions.

How long have you been preparing for the exam? Did you purchase a study guide?

I have the ATI study guide and have been studying since June. I have been focusing on the math and science sections.

Hi!!

Does anyone knows about the entrance exam? (not TEAS) which one is it, how difficult? Do they give you material to study for the exam.? :)

Herzing University requires all entering students to take the TEAS 5. I am unsure what other entrance exam you are speaking of. The campus offers a review for $80 which is usually a day or two before the exam date. I have been told to either get the ATI study guide or the TEAS study guide. Hope this helps.

I am planning on attending Herzing in Orlando as well! I would be moving from Atlanta, and i start school May 2012, if anyone is looking for a roommate/apartment let me know!

Hello,

I am even considering going to Herzing University (Orlando campus) for their BSN Program AND Starting in May 2012. I might need a roommate/apartment... I live in Atlanta, GA too... I have a question: do you know where I can locate their Nursing Program application?

Hey! Really?! that's awesome! we could possibly room together?! Well the first step is to take the TEAS, after you do that, contact one of the admissions representative and they will walk you through the process, from what i heard there is a lot of paperwork, I haven't submitted my application yet because I am taking my TEAS this saturday!, but my advisor told me that after I get me results back I need to contact her and she will tell me what to do next! so your best bet is to contact one of the representatives, have you already taken the TEAS yet?!
