I just came home from ft. myers beach and the cape & ft. myers are shut down ready & waiting. The beach was soooo nice today with a little cloud cover, nice breeze, and medium sizewaves. My kids & I had a great time in the water. No traffic has been heaven. I'm dreading losing air conditioning & computer access worst than anything. Wow, so that doesn't include all your house insurance or is the 4,000 for hurricane, fire and flood only?

That's the grand total - fire, hurricane, theft, flood, etc. The flood portion is $1000.00 a year, which is a grandfathered rate pre-rezoning. It would be over $3000.00 for flood alone if I wasn't grandfathered in making my insurance $6000.00/year. It's completely totally insane.

Here it's all about location. Your best bet is to stay greater than 12 feet above sea level away from a flood zone.
