Is there a chance a nurse diagnosed to be Hepa b positive still can work in the United States?
That was a titre test to see if you needed a booster. It is not the series of tests that they are doing, and the other testing is also to see if you need a booster or if you have immunization still in your body. And that is for the MMR and chicken pox. Itis called a serology titre, that is the actual true name of what is being testing. But it is not the full serology work-up that would be done if someone has had hepatitis.
It was not checking to see if you had it, but if you still had immunity to it from the previous Hep B series offered of the three injections.
Still two very different things.
For testing for the actual Hepatitis B, it is multiple testing and not just one blood test for it, but an entire series as well as liver work-up and this is not done by an employer. This is what I am trying to explain.
I see.
Thanks for clarification.

hi..it's been a while since i visited this site. I have previous posts regarding hep B infection since i am a carrier myself, a healthy one. It bothered me a lot and until now, honestky speaking, even if my employer's not bothering me about it, it scares me out literally. I was diagnosed when i was in college up until medical exam for working abroad. I was very fortunate to work with a doctor who really explained to me that there are various types of hep B and as long as your liver tests are fine and you'r type is not highky contagious, you can actually work in a hospital setting. The idea of being hep B positive bothered me even when i got here in the US. I still can vividly recall having bad ideas that they might just send me back home. Right now, i'm still working here in the US, the employee management team of our hospital did test me on being hep B positive and my HBeAg's loooking fine. The only thing they want me to do as a standard precaution is to have double gloving in any procedure that will require transmission of blood/body products. So guys, jz continue to pray. Don't let this illness get in the way to fulfilling your dreams of working abroad. Although i'm not very verbal about this condition in my work which I think I don't owe anybody an explanatin or something. As long as your doing your job well and complying with what the hospital requires, you'll be fine.. God bless!
