I was just browsing and found your post. You say she fell off the table!! I would probably get her checked out cause if she managed to cut herself there, there might be other soft tissue injuries. did she hit her head? I'm not a mom but I would take her to the ER. they will get her checked out and while she would be exposed to be examined, it needs to be done and she won't even remember this when she gets older. plus if she's afraid to pee then it is bothering her. i don't know if it could lead to a UTI. just my thoughts.
My daughter was standing up at the kitchen table tonite playing. I immediatley told her to sat down and finish eating. As she sat down, she fell and cut the inside of her lady parts looks like its close to the ureter (Sp). It is bleeding but not that much and she is scared to urinate b/c it hurts. I am debating taking her to the E.R. b/c I am not sure if there anything they can do and I don't want to traumatize her by having someone look there if they don't have to. She says she is not in any pain. I know she is scared b/c she thinks me and her dad are mad of course we are not just scared to see your 5 yr. old bleeding from there. I don't know what to do?
I, too, just saw your post. Most definitely get medical attention for your daughter.
I am very sorry someone seems to think I was trying to get medical advice. I was simply asking a question at a time when I was upset, have called dr. and will see her in the morning. This site is beginning to get very uptight about questions and I think I am finished visiting here. I am begining to wonder what kind of people run these boards what if I really needed some "advice" (even though I was not looking for any) How does it help by closing the thread if a person really needed help ex: no phone lived, in rural area or young parent. Hmm makes me wonder again why stop someone from asking a question and we are supposed to be a caring profession.
Again Sorry.
i closed the thread in question after our bb members instructed you to seek medical attention. the time spent posting may be better spent in speaking with primary health care practitioner or 911 operator in case of emergency.
as a bulletin board, we are increasingly being asked to give medical advice. that is not our purpose.
per our which you agreed to on sign-up:
terms of service - all users please read and follow
this is not a medical advice bulletin board
this is a board for nurses and nurses-to-be to discuss primarily nursing issues. this is not a free medical advice board. please be aware that allnurses.com cannot be responsible for problems resulting from reliance on medical or nursing advice received here. if you have a medical problem, please seek attention from your health care provider.
thanks for your understanding.
