I need some insight. From anyone because I don't get it.
I am leaving my less then ethical hospice agency. I gave my two week notice and woke up this morning with emails from admissions. I am being assigned 2 new patients ..... I emailed my manager ( who never answers my calls ) and reminded her I have about a week left. I am confused why I am getting new cases.
I emailed admissions who said "she told us" to assign them to you.. WHy would they assign me.. knowing I am leaving?

They don't care about the patients.

Are there any other case managers in your office?
Yes, there are... and I have NO clue why I am being assigned new patients.

why not ask her?
it's certainly a reasonable question.

THey are claiming they "don't have anyone to replace me yet. " nothing like waiting until the last minute. I think it's horrifically sad that any agency would take on patients they can't staff...

They cannot refuse admissions and remain profitable. For profit hospices have profit as a high priority...sometimes higher than patient needs.

So have they found anyone to replace you with yet, to get the new patients? To get your existing patients? They have you on-call your last week there? I'm glad for you that you are leaving! :yeah:I feel for the patients. But you need to take care of yourself, and protect your license!
THere is plenty of staff. Our management doesn't seem to make the wisest decisions. I have taken a stand and said no more pateints. I have 2 or 3 days left.. come on!
