I've been an LPN for 10 years. Recently decided to go for RN through Excelsior college. I have studied my butt off for this first NC1 exam. Alot of people who have taken it already have said that it's easy and it's basic nursing knowledge. I have found that the material is not all that easy. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips....

My best advice would be to take the practice exam offered by EC and see where you stand on that. Good luck to ya!

Does anyone know if there is any type of free online practice test avaible... Im a poor poor woman...
I may be able to help you....i recently purchased a few study guides off of ebay..i would be happy to help someone else in need....get in touch with me through email
The way I always looked at it is this: The practice exams are $65 (maybe $75 now) and you get two different tests to take and review. I agree that you don't want to throw money around, but if a $65 practice exam helps you avoid paying for the whole thing over again, I think it's worth it.
This is true ...did you find the practice exams to be similar to the real test?
I just took the NC1 test this am and passed....with a grade of a C. Everyone that I had talked to said it was really easy....not the case with me. I thought it was really hard!!
Take the C and run with it.....Now you know what the test are like and can feel better about the next test.. youll know what to expect. I know everyone shoots for A's but I'd be proud of that C.....Congrats

Sweetshell,
Did you do the practice exam? What materials did you use to study. I'm just starting Excelsior and I would like to know what is helpful and what is not before I start spending $$ on study guides and such.
Thanks,
