my lilttle brother is almost 2 years old and on Friday he went ot the doctor for four shots.. The doctor said it would be normal for him to get a little rash .. He just woke up from a nap and he has a huge rash and the outside of it is white and hard, some areas are more white then others ... he seems to be itching it too. My mom called the doctor and there is no one in the office.. Should she take him to the ER?
Thanks

Doesn't the doc's office have an answering service that gets in touch with him or whoever is on call for him? Legally, if he's not available he has to make sure someone is on call and the patients know who it is.
As for your brother...when in doubt, go ahead to the ER. Does he have a fever? Chills? Any other symptoms?
I don't know about your area, but at ours the pediatric emergency department will field calls like this for you. They will never turn you away, though.

No one is on call.. He is limping on the leg that has the rash. The rash is hot and he has a slight fever. He is fussy and the rash is about 5 to 6 inches down to his knee. The rash is red but the white part almost looks like something is dripping .. It hard to describe. It keeps getting harder.

I'm with cyberkat. If he looks unwell (short of breath, wheezing, febrile, shivery... ) or is more passive/drowsy than usual, take him to ER. If he looks okay, try to track down the oncall person, or ring your closest kids hospital.
Good luck!
