Since I'm not totally certain what exactly this thread is asking, I would say that stress affects one's ability to concentrate, there's probably a little depression and maybe an increased desire to sleep, eat.
is there a theory that explains the relationship between stress and academic performance??

Have you gone to the student nurse forum and asked them about their stress?
more stress
less sleep
poor diet
less exersize (no time for it)
all leads to illness
leads to lost time in school
sorry so brief, gotta run to work

i am a nursing student and was recently hospitalized for 5 days purely due to the stress of nursing school - started with what i later learned was called "pseudo-seizures" in the middle of class one day. it was very scary, but resulting meds are wonderful and am back in my bsn program after only a week off. lack of sleep is a monster that feeds on us during waking hours!!!

Funny you should ask... my classmates were just talking the other day about how so many of them have started taking antidepressants since starting school.
