Help on schooling

Published

 I am still a student in high school. I'll only be a junior this year. I would like to become a midwife. I am taking Medical Termonology this year along with CNA. They are both college courses and I would like help on where i should go for colleges. (might I add, it has to be christian) I just want to get a good start on where I want to go to in life. I figured by joining this community, I could get answers I need, and they could be answered better. I alreay know a lot of things for my age about medical conditions. My father is a walking medical disaster. He is an alcoholic. He looks like a living holocaust victim. I just want help in where I should go for Christian schooling. and maybe some of you could help me decide as to whether maybe I should become something else in the medical field. I would really really appreciate any help from anyone!!

Thanks for your time and patience!

Thanks that actually helps a lot haha! :) I really appreciate all of the help! If I have any other questions I'll be sure to get on here again! In the mean time, I need to get some rest. Im actually recovering from Brain Surgery in my right side. I had a Benign tumor in my brain. Astrocytosis. It was a 2.5 hour surgery and i got 50 stitches outta the deal! It sucks big time! =/ I got 3 titanium miniplates holding the piece of skull which was cut out, in place. along with 5 mm screws. So I will be back online tomorrow sometime. As for right now, I need to get some sleep. =) Ahh...Wonderful sleep :) ahaha Thanks for all of the help tonight! It was greatly appreciated!

Ok, first let me say congrats on your drive and determination. Nice to see a young person with such motivation. Secondly, let me say that if you do a google search for "baptist colleges with RN degree" a few will pop up. I did a quick search and found

http://www2.mercer.edu/Nursing/Academic+Programs/default.htm dont know their reputation but they are baptist with a nursing program.

Third, I dont know where you are from but I'm in TN and down here there are 200 churches in just my county. The baptist religion is very prominent. There is Lincoln Memorial University which is here as well. It is not christian but it is private and small and with the religion so prevelant around here it offers the same "christian" atmosphere. So if you can't find a school you may want to go that route.

Fourth, you will want to get your CNA then your LPN and THEN your RN. RN is after your LPN. LPN is Licensed Practical nurse and RN is registered nurse. Not sure if it was just an oversight in your post but wanted to make sure you are going in the right direction.

Good LUck

I used to live in GA and from what I remember, Mercer is a very respected school.

Best of luck in your studies!
