Hi all I have applied to my local college for the midwife program however I have to fill out a request form from the hospital where I work asking permission.There is a part which says Explain how the training will benefit the work of your organization could you guys please help me with a few suggestions I could put.I really need this approval.Thanks in Advance.

I don't understand why you need permission from your work in order to go back to school. Are you asking for tuition reimbursement, or a leave of absence/time off?

For tuition reimbursement? Does your current hospital use CNMs? If not, you can state facts on patient safety/satisfaction. Not sure if hospitals would like the stats on reduced sections since they will lose money on that, but it's still important I think. Plus bringing in different clientele, etc.

Yes, hospitals do like reduced c/s rates. It's not a source of pride to be known as a hospital with a high c/s rate. On the other hand, being able to say you have a very low rate draws more people and favorable attention.

Apparently management gives staff a hard time to further their education.Don't understand why.They probably figure staff will leave not sure what their rational is.
