Help with peds subdural from trauma

Published

Hello,

I guess I should say I'm new to the site. I was searching for info on peds trach care and stumbled onto this site.

I find my self in need of a refresher on peds trach and g-tube feedings and any info on head trauma.

My grandson is 2 1/2 and currently in a vegatative state at WVU. He was in a rehab for 1 week, (to early I think) the trach came out and is now back in the hospital.

I am moving back home to help but I need all the info I can get and any tips.

The last time I worked in the hospital was in the early 80's and I was IV Therapy. Now I'm a monitor for oncology trials, so peds is out of my realm of experience.

Any help?????

It's been a long time for me too. I have seen a site:

http://www.tracheostomy.com/index.html

It's written by a mother whose son had one for the first 4 years of his life. Last trach I cared for was maybe 6-8 years ago. Of course any questions would defer to the doctors' orders. Your grand has a wonderful granny to move there to be with him.
