i am a new graduate rn, currently been working for 3 months as a rn at a 44 bed hospital in a rural town in co.i am single, fit, 25 years old, i don't know any one here, there is nothing to do, and therefore i am pretty much miserable.

i think i am very lucky to have this job because lets face it, no one wants to spend the money and take the time to hire and orient a gn.

my parents, sister, and niece will be moving to swfl and asked me to come along. i am so scared that if i go, i wont find a job in swfl, and i will be giving up an opportunity to get hospital experience.

should i suck it up in co even though i am depressed and will be even more depressed when my family moves, get a year under my belt?

or take the chance and move to a place where i know i will have a tough time finding a job at a hospital but i wil be with my family?

this is hard for me because my career and family are the most important things to me. please help! any suggestions or point of view would be great.

I would apply for your FL RN license, start looking for a job here now and maybe by the time you move you'll have one. I am a new grad as well unable to locate a job. Recruiters have told me that the area is saturated with medical people and there are few jobs, this is why it's hard to get a job here and once you do the salary is pitiful compared to other states.
