Help with NET exam

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone remembered what the NET exam was like. I plan to take it in about 1 1/2 weeks at one of the colleges here in Mesa. I did get a hold of this Net, HOBET, etc. study guide. Does anyone know if the practice tests provided in the book is comparative to the actual or are there some other things I should be looking at? Any information or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Me too! I'm not such a great test taker but if the reading is as hard as everyone says it is then I am in trouble. Well I have until november 6th to get it right

Do a search on this site - there was a male student who put together instructions on how to pass it. I used it and passed, although there were a few bio and chem questions that I didn't know.

I took the Net at Glendale Community College. It was 30 minutes for the math and 30 minutes for the reading. I was never worried of running out of time on the math but that reading section is very fast so brush up on your reading skills. I myself have trouble with being timed like that it makes me more nervous so my mind can't stay clear. I know people who have taken it once and passed and others that have taken it multiple times. It depends on the person and I think sometimes lucky guessing :). I did better each time I took it and finally I got a 70 in the reading which was my passing test. Just stay calm and confident and you should do fine :). Good luck. Oh and someone else mentioned Chem and science I did not have any chem or science on my test. I had math, reading, and there is a section on learning styles which is a bunch of questions on how you like to learn and there was stuff about family, work, and your life and some stuff on test taking. The last half of the test after the reading and math is easy questions that you answer honestly and then its over. All schools are different so you might have to do science, chem, and anatomy somewhere else. There wasn't any geometry on my test either. Let us know how you do when you take it :).

Thanks for the info. 30 min for each? Were you able to finish? I thought you had about an hour for the math section. Well, thanks for wishing me luck. I'll need it. I'll keep you posted.

Some tests at other schools give you an hour for the math section with 60 or more questions but at Glendale you only have around 33 questions for the math section and 30 minutes. I had no problem with that part of the test I got a 97 on math. The reading is the hard part for me and I am reading exempt for the school so go figure LOL. Hope you pass, good luck. Remember to stay relaxed and cofident :).
