Study up on fractions and percentages! That was the majority of the math portion that I can rememeber:) The reading was just reading paragraphs and answering basic questions like main idea, theme, purpose, etc. I thought the reading was tough, but I have never been good at comprehensive reading questions. I remember thinking to myself during the test that I didn't think that I passed but I did it the first time! A good internet based study guide I used was http://www.testprepreview.com :) Also, I have really bad test anxiety:no: so I would suggest something that helps you calm that if you have the same problem. I think that hindered my score a little because I was really nervous! Good luck
I thought the test was much like the study guide.
HOWEVER, there were sections on biology, chemistry, etc. I THINK - but do not know for sure - that it is just for data collection to understand who is taking the tests. There were also q's about stress and family situations. Because I wanted to be done and go home, if it wasn't math or english, I went though the questions super fast and didn't really care about them. Some of those science sections my score was low. I was admitted to nursing school. Good luck.
if you can get the suggested study guide it can really help you. I bought mine on ebay and then sold it on ebay after I took the test for as much as I bought it for. Basic Math Skills, Writing and English Skills and some Science Knowledge. The reading part I really screwed up on trying to make it harder than it was. Godd luck!
not much and it seemed like the minimal stuff (it has been almost 2 years since I took the NET though. I just remember the fractions/ratios flying out all over the place.
Isn't everything in NYC competitive? That is where my husband is from originally! I feel like everyone is competing for just air and space (I'm originally from a small town in Nebraska.) Anyways I wish you the very best of luck in the NET and in nursing school.
I think that the math section in the study guide is pretty much the same on the NET exam except different problems. The reading I found much harder on the actual test than in the practice book. I would study each of the reading sections like predicting outcomes, main idea ect. Know what the question is asking you. I took the NET test 4 times (actually 5 because the computer crashed and I had to take it twice in one day LOL) before I passed. I was beginning to think that I was never going to get on the wait list. Good Luck and just stay calm and watch your time because the first time I took it I ran out of time on the reading.

4 times! Now I'm really nervous. I'm really not having many problems with the math. Can't say the same for the reading practice tests, which is funny because it's usually the math I have problems with. I know the test is timed, but do you remember how much time is given for the reading and math portions? I haven't looked at any Geomety. Should I be looking at that? Thanks for your response.

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone remembered what the NET exam was like. I plan to take it in about 1 1/2 weeks at one of the colleges here in Mesa. I did get a hold of this Net, HOBET, etc. study guide. Does anyone know if the practice tests provided in the book is comparative to the actual or are there some other things I should be looking at? Any information or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
