Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

today i took my NCLEX. And i feel like i failed it!!! i got so many drug questions that i have never even heard of, and i got a ton of select all that apply, and that scares me. I felt like i knew absolutely nothing on this test. but i scored really well on all my practice tests. did anyone else feel this way and still pass? i need some encouraging words!!!

btw my test shut off after 85 questions.

thank you all so much!:redbeathe

Everyone feels this way when they take the test. It is hard to gauge the meaning of pass/fail versus the amount of questions you have. The computer is the one who decides if you are passing in the subject areas they test on. I failed about a month ago with 265 questions. I have been researching how the computerized testing works. Once the computer determines where your level of knowledge is in the subject areas it will shut off. The two day waiting period for my results was torture. Hopefully you can find yours out soon. Keep positive thoughts and try not to stress to much (I know it is hard).

I am having a tough time myself. I took it twice already and FAILED twice. Now this is my third time to take it and I am really scared to death. I am searching and finding how will i pass this test for the 3rd time. I can afford to fail anymore, my life depend on it. I cant even start reading and studying since my FEAR is bigger than me. I applied in CA and the wait for the result is more than a month, two days is nothing compare to it. I have all the materials i need. My problem is how will I start..im afraid..HELP

From what I've read so far, shutting off at the minimum number of questions is usually a good sign. And it also seems that most of us leave the testing center feeling like we failed.

I hope it went well for you--hang in there!

thank you all for replying, i heard that shutting off at the minimum is good also (i took the pn) but i have heard of people failing it after it shut off at 85. i really wish we could get our results the same day. and i am not even going to think about trying the pearson vue trick, because i don't want to freak myself out.

I failed with 265 questions when I got my print out of my results. Having a minim amount of questions is not a guaranteed pass. Go to this website https://www.ncsbn.org/1223.htm

Read the last two sentences in the paragraph titled what can the CPR tell me about my exam? It explains somewhat the meaning of the amount of questions asked.
