I'm confused. What exactly have you been doing in a NICU without passing your boards? Were you a patient technician? Are you a foreign nurse who worked in NICU in your own home country?
I would forget about losing your NICU skills, but think hard on the fact that you haven't worked in over a year. Or are you working somewhere else as a RN right now? You need to get a nursing job and work your way back into NICU from there. The longer you go without working, the harder it is to get back into it. You could try going for a NICU job out of state; I moved across the country for my own job.
Yeah im a foreign nurse from UK amd been working in NICU...been applying here but i am thinking of being out of state now since it seems really hard to find a job here in CA

I know that our NICU is hiring, but I am across the country from California, so unless you are willing to majorly relocate again, then I am no help I hope you find something soon! Are you only applying for NICU, or for any job posting? I know NICU is a very different area compared to the rest of the nursing world, but I would think it'd be important to keep up with ANY kind of nursing experience. So if you can't find NICU right now, I would definitely apply for other spots.
..yes i am applying for any nursing field...its a way to explore other field of nursing too however i am always, shall i say, "disqualified" coz i only have nicu experience...i am open to anything right now...but i am praying someone will want me... what state/county are you?
