I had the same trouble finding out anything specific about a new grad residency for UPMC. If I remember correctly, there is a brief mention of one on their website, but nothing more. My school's nursing department didn't seem to know anything, either.
I was successful in finding a regular job with UPMC after a couple dozen applications, and I have to wait until October 19 to start, because that is when the next new grad orientation will be held. All the communication I've received makes it seem pretty comprehensive, but there's no mention of it being a residency. All that said, my only advice would be to apply for lots of positions (many of the descriptions will have a paragraph stating that new grads will be considered for the job).

Hi, I am a current BSN student in florida who will be finished with the program early december. I will be moving to Pittsburgh and have questions about UPMC hiring process. I cant seem to find any information on the website about their new nurse residency/orientation process. It doesnt help that i am coming a different state. the place m school affiliates with has come to our school and discusses the hiring process.
Are there certain dates for new grades to apply for their residency? ie: for the healthcare system here, you have the first 5 days of the month to apply. i know nothing about the UPMC hiring process and ANY information can help me. also, do you need ur license before you apply?
