Hi everyone!
I've been doing a lot of research on LVN schools in the South Bay/Los Angeles area and so far haven't had a lot of luck. I keep reading bad reviews on schools like the American Career College, Concorde, Trinity, Homestead, etc. Does anyone know of any GOOD LVN schools that are decently priced?
Thanks!

Have you looked at community colleges? I went to a community college in LA county and spent less than $2k in school fees. Maybe another $1k for school supplies and books. I liked my experience enough to go back for my RN in the same school.
Good is very, very subjective. No program will be easy. There will always be rotten eggs in the faculty or student body. But if you are looking for a program with dedicated faculty of experienced nurses, strong clinical partners who offer reliable clinical rotation sites and a record of good NCLEX-PN pass rates, plenty of community colleges fit the bill.
I am very skeptical of private, for-profit schools. I have met way too many new grads from those schools who owe $10-$20k and have never step foot in a hospital because the faculty and clinical sites keep changing.
Go to the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians for a list of all approved schools in California. http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/
Good luck!
Nope! Please see my post. :)

I have heard that all nursing schools in CA are expensive! But you will also be getting paid more after you get out compared to Texas, our schools are less expensive but we get paid less than CA.
My VN school is about 7k all expenses included (except probably less because that included text books but I didn't get mine from the book store, if you use amazon or possibly a past student you can get them for much less...I got all my books new and only paid $300 for first semester and at the book store it would have been $900 we had 17 books)
Thank you everyone for your recommendations! :)

I just checked out this school's website. That's a lot a money for such a low passing rate on the NCLEX. Not flaming... just sayin'.

Usually, you get what you pay for! In hindsight I regret going to the least expensive program I could find. Do your research and try something in the middle.
