Help with leaving a per diem job

Published

I have a very new per diem job that isn't what I wanted nor expected. I've found another perm job within the organization that I want to apply for however I would have to inform my manager (per policy). How bad is it to want to change jobs so quickly (one month)?? I don't know how this would be perceived. Would the manager/organization view it as better to salvage the time and money training me by having me move elsewhere? Or would I be perceived badly for wanting to change so quickly? I don't want to make waves by telling my new manager that I don't like the position and it wasn't what I was told it would be. I'd rather just exit gracefully.

If you are moving from per diem to a permanent position, just say that....

I would think this would be a pretty common situation. The only trouble you may have is if the manager says "Oh! Well, I have a full time opening...."
