Help with job offers

Published

I've had my license since last summer, around June and have not had any luck with finding a job here in the Bay Area til this week when I was offered a part-time job in an ALF. At the same time I have been in contact with someone I met who works at Kaiser as an ER Tech and she has offered to help me get a job there. I am now torn if I should continue to try and get a job at Kaiser since I feel like in the future it might be easier for me to get a job as a RN when I do a lvn-rn bridge program. But at the same time I feel that if I take on two jobs right now it might wear me out sooner than I would like.

Do you guys think it's a smart decision to try and do both or should I just stick with the job offer at ALF. The ED and head nurse told me that they always start their nurses off as part-time to see how we perform and if our work ethics are up to par with their standards before they offer a full-time position.

Did kaiser already offer you a job? If So, just stuck with kaiser. If not, take what is offered now. If you get an off at kaiser later take if, do both jobs till you find out which is better, then quit the worst job between the 2. IMO :)

Nope not yet. The person I know just said that the head nurse was willing to talk to me. I was just thinking if it's a step down to work as a ER Tech when I already have my license though. I know it's a great opportunity to get into Kaiser that;s why I've been thinking about it so much.

I'd go ahead and interview with Kaiser but if it's a tech position versus a nursing position, I'd chose the nursing position because that's what I went to school for and I'd like to use my degree to its fullest. Does that make sense?
