Anyone who replies to your plea for help will note your typo's and poor grammar. Just sayin'.

Was that really necessary? This is a site for support and advice, although no one even responds anymore.

I have to say it's hard to take that post seriously when the OP couldn't take 2 minutes to proof read. Makes me wonder how their job applications look. It was painful to read.

Above the comment box is a statement regarding the use of text speak in posts. When I see a person who does not take the rules here seriously enough to follow them, I have concerns. I find it hard to believe a nurse, who had to learn to effectively communicate in writing, would intentionally choose to communicate ineffectively. Just one example: narrative charting must be understood by everyone on the team. Physicians, nurses, therapists and social work have to know what is going on with the patient. State surveyors, and lawyers may be using the chart to determine quality of care. If the charting is full of text speak, people will wonder what else you're skimping on. Don't give people an excuse to nitpick everything you've done.
OP, pay attention, the way you present yourself matters. If you use text speak anywhere in an application, I will assume you don't care enough about the job to put in any effort. You might be the most awesome nurse ever, but communication is also required. Don't fail that part.
It doesn't surprise me that I would get a response to my previous comment. It seems to me that there is always time for defensiveness and negativity on these sites, instead of polite, constructive criticism. That is why I am bidding adieu to this site and all social media. I'm tired of people hiding behind their anonymity , while they write nasty comments to innocent posters. Makes me wonder how some of these same people treat their patients, just saying... Instead I will seek inspiration and advice from where it has always been, from within myself and those loved ones who surround me. Good luck to all pursuing their degrees, jobs, and higher education. I wish you all well!

Been in AN since 2010. But after two years of being inactive, I was not able to log in to my account, thus it prompted me to make a new one. And I could not agree more with you. Tides have turned. Nasty, rude and unnecessary comments have become conventional.
