Hi Guys,
I am graduating in December 2015 with my BSN degree. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am on a student visa and need sponsorship with a hospital to find a job. Does anybody know which hospitals are more likely to help individuals like me?
I have been in the US for more than 11 years and have 2 degrees (a master's in public health and a Bachelor's in Biology). I am currently in Kentucky but I am willing to move anywhere in the States.
Thank you for your help.

What country was you born in? If you already have BSN then you don't have option for OPT and if from certain countries then you are going to have to maintain student status if lucky to find employer willing to sponsor you and wait for your PD to be processed and current otherwise looking at leaving until your PD is current

The point of a student visa is supposed to be that you are here to study and will be returning to your home country after completing your studies. There are plenty of RNs in the US and not much need or demand for sponsoring foreign nurses.
Thank you for the reply. I am Originally from Ghana. I am also hoping to combine MPH degree with RN degree and hopefully find a job that will make the transition easier. Just having a difficult time finding an organization that will sponsor. Finding jobs is not a problem.

Have you worked using your mph yet? There is very little demand for new grad nurses requiring sponsorship. There is no incentive for a company to go through the time & expense to sponsor for a work visa when in some areas of the country there are hundreds of qualified USC& PR nurses not needing sponsorship applying for a single posting. You don't qualify for H1B as a new grad as extensive specialty experience is a requirement for that visa.
It's not impossible but with the current economy it's not likely.

Try reaching out for Houston Methodist Hospital here in Texas. I heard they just went out of the country to fill up their staffing needs. But it would be very helpful if you're already an NCLEX passer. But then again, there's no harm in trying.
