Hi and welcome to the site

Have moved your post to the international forum as things are different when trained overseas.

Have you actually applied yet to a state board of nursing? If not then the chances of getting everything sorted in 2 months is zilch takes on average 4-8 months depending on state you apply to. Are you coming over with a tourist visa? You are aware if that is the case that you can not adjust your status and stay in the US?

You are not applying for NCLEX but application to be licensed as a RN in the US of which NCLEX is just a part of that process.

hi thanx for that info.. yah i'm applying there as tourist visa. my cousin wanted me to have my nclex examination either in maryland or new jersey. according to her that if i passed she's goin to fix it with her lawyer.

tough one right!!! is it good idea? she also told me that i'm goin to need a request of validation to prc.. will i get it now?

Unfortunately your cousin will not be able to do anything if you pass the exam, retrogression has been ongoing since Oct 06 and apart from a very small window in July07 you can not adjust your status and stay. You haven't even started the process yet, you need to go to the board of nursing website and see what their requirements are for foreign trained nurse, link can be found at the bottom of the page for board of nursing websites. Also if you do not have a tourist visa yet you may have issues as you can now sit the exam in the Philippines. I would suggest a good read on retrogression because you are currently looking at several years waiting

Hi,

you would need to check the requirements of the BON of your choice on their website. You may also need one of the services of CGFNS. And you will also need to pass an English exam, such as IELTS or TOEFL. The academic records, and validation of your license will be submitted to CGFNS, and they should come directly from the source, which is your school and the PRC.

Good luck

Both of those states have additional requirements that need to be met before they will even look at your application, including the CES, which is a credentials eval as well as English exams passed first as well.

And as the others have stated, there is actually no way at all to adjust your visa status once you arrive here. There is no fixing of papers, visas are issued by the US federal government and them alone. All an attorney can do is submit the documents, but since we have had a retrogression in place for more than two years and counting, there is nothing that the US government is accepting at this time that will permit you to remain here and work.

Next issue is that you are willing to take cuts in front of everyone else that has been patiently waiting, and this is something that is frowned upon by all.

You are looking at probably six months or so before you will have everything done and be granted permission to even sit for the NCLEX exam. One does not apply for the NCLEX exam directly, it is impossible to do. Next question for you as well is did you actually take and pass the NLE as well? And do you actually hold a US visa to enter the US at this time or are you going to be applying for one?

And then to add to everything, it is going to be almost impossible to find an employer at this time as they are required to hire an American first and since there are so many that are out of work this is also going to be hard to do as well.

Best of luck to you, highly recommend that you take the time to do some reading on this site and not listen to what your cousin wants you to do that cannot be done or can get you in serious legal trouble with the US government.
