I recieved my letter from Visalia Adult School saying I was one of the top testers:D for the LVN program starting this November. Now I move on to the last part of selection: an interview with the school. If anyone can send me questions they were asked during their interview and their experience it would be greatly appreciated. I'm one month away and I want to be fully prepared. I would gladly appreciate any feedback!

HI, I wasn't really asked any major questions. Some of them were:
1. Why do you want to be a nurse?
2. Do you have a strong support system?
3. Do you have strong moral values, how do you feel about cheating etc?
Then she proceed to drill the attendence and cell phone policy into my head, but it wasn't any questions I felt nervous about answering.
4. They also go over a overview of the program, and then give you a handbook to read over, and then you often may meet with financial aid the same day.
Hope this helps, Keep us posted about how everything goes.

One question that sticks out (that was a long time ago) was "Tell me what a LPN does in an average work day?".
They asked how I was going to support myself while going to school, if I had a set schedule to study and to explain it . . .
Now I know this part does not apply to everyone but in my case . . . I was 21 or 22 . . . I had my tongue and an eyebrow peirced. One of the ladies told me in the interview "You will remove that and that" while pointing at my face. My only reply was "Yes m'am". Later in the year she informed me IN FRONT of the whole class (yes, she was an instructor but they didn't tell us that at the interview) that if I had answered any other way when she told me to remove the peircings that I would not have been allowed in the program. So just a FYI.
Oh another thing they discussed with us once we were already in the program was NOT to wear scrubs to the interview.
Good luck!

I was interviewed by the Program Director.
- Tell me a little about yourself.
- Why do you want to be a nurse?
- What are your future goals/Where do you see yourself in the future?
- Do you have experience as a aide? (this was a lead-in question and led to an interesting conversation. She said that she wanted to train her nurses to not see a job as being cna work or nurse work.)
- Do you have reliable transportation or a backup?
- Do you plan to work while in school? (they strongly caution against this - but, most of us do work.)
- Do you have a good support system?
That's all that I remember...
