I'm so disappointed in my score. I took the TEAS 5 and I got a 71% overall, my science score was a 73; my other scores weren't too hot either. I studied for this test and I want to know what I'm possibly doing wrong and how to raise my score. Any help is appreciated!!!
*I studied using the McGraw-Hill book

How did you study using the book? I used the same book to study as well and felt it prepared me for the content on the exam. I studied by first taking one of the practice tests at the end of the book. Then, I saw the areas I scored poorly on and thoroughly read those sections. I did more practice tests on those sections and if I scored poorly again, I re-read the sections then tested again until my score improved. The nice thing is the McGraw-Hill book has so many practice tests, so you never repeat questions. Also, make sure you take the small quizzes at the end of each section. They are also very helpful! For the sections you score well on the practice tests, just read over them to make sure you grasp the main concepts.
Take online tests, too, to prepare yourself with more information. Testprepreview.com has a TEAS section that helped a lot as well.
Hope that helped!

I was so sick to my stomach over this test too even though we got 2 oppurtunites to take it. It counted for 1/3 of my admission score into the program. They way I did it ( not sure if it works with your schedule) is I took it after the first week of the new quarter. I took microbiology and human anatomy so I got basic biology and chemistry reviews without having to study from the study guide. This helped because I was forced for my tests in class to study the material. I would study during the night and day hours I was free from school all that week and took the practice tests in the book and the practice tests online. It was pricey, but well worth it to only take the TEAS once. I got an 84.7. This is what worked best for me!
That makes sense...congrats on your score...I'm in Micro now so hopefully that'll help when I retake it. I'm just going to keep a positive outlook and keep pushing forward.
I would look into to getting the ATI study guide and taking those tests online. They were just like the real thing and helped me expect what to know going into it. Good luck!!!
Oh, forgot to add, I scored a 91.3% on the test as well just by using those two resources. Keeping positive about the situation is the best thing you can do. It's a new day and a new time taking the test. Just take a deep breath and try to relax before you take it next time. You can do it!

I failed version 4 twice and finally past version 5 this may. I studied my tush off using flash cards, with multiple choice so I can shuffle the questions around, I used the pre-test from the ATI web-site. The key question I think you should ask is, what do you think happen to cause the fail? The first two times, i was not only physically disturbed by a classmate (she knocked me in the head with paper to say hi because her test was free...not mine!) but I have a slight anxiety with time. What ever you feel that caused this to happen, seek aid. Your school might provide a councelor. Together you two can pin point a solution that best fits you.
If you feel as though there is no other issue, that the test wasn't what you studied, I don't know what other schools would call this area, but my school calls it the academic support center. They might have some other sources to help enhance your study. For me, after the second time, I got help, I used this site (allnurses.com) and found great resources. I also used the book from ATI, that was sold at my school's book store.
Hope this helps, and hope it doesn't sound to harsh. Just remember its not the end of the world if you fail.
